  1. Hi, not sure if this is the correct section for this question.

I have registered WHDLoad and updated to the latest version which is installed on Amiga Forever and works great but when I load any of my WHDLoad games in FS-UAE a box comes up saying it is not registered.

    How do I solve this?

    • Hi, please copy your WHDLoad.key file into Documents/FS-UAE (that is; store a copy as Documents/FS-UAE/WHDLoad.key).

  2. Hello there, is there a way to speed up the loading times? I mean, bypass the true emulation only when is in loading, maybe with a boost.. is this possible?
    Thanks!

  3. Hello there I don’t know if this is the right place to ask but I didn’t find a contact link so..
Have you ever thought of a commodore 64 version of the frontend? Is it something realistic? (thinking of that because this amiga db and system is outstanding!)

    Thanks in advance! NK

  4. Hello Again. I have another question. Why are all my Covers/Screenshots in folders with hexadecimal numbers, instead of proper names (There are neither a “Covers” or “Screenshots” folder, just a “Cache” folder).
The files inside have also hexadecimal numbers, and the files are all mixed up.
The covers/screenshots show up normally in the launcher and the games run fine, but I want to add covers/screenshots to non-database games, and I can’t do that as it is now.

Do You know what is wrong?

    Thank You.

    • They have proper names for the use it is intended for 😉 It is not intended for you to add covers/screens for non-database configurations. There’s another mechanism for that, see http://fs-uae.net/launcher for information and examples!

  5. Hello! Thanks for a great program. I was wondering if it is possible to use filters (like hq3x, hq4x etc.)
I know it isn’t integrated into the launcher, but can you make it work by using a custom configuration?
I am not very good at this, unfortunatly, so do you think you can tell me what to input? (If it is possible).

    Thank You.

  6. A question, if I want to insert a new game that is not in the database and save new configuration do if I want to connect to this new configuration also the screenshots, I also create the folder, is it possible?

    • Hi, it is possible to add screenshots to non-database configuration in FS-UAE Launcher: http://fs-uae.net/launcher

That being said, I know I’ve been a bit “lazy” with adding games from the wishlist lately, and I’ll get on with that 🙂

      • Thanks I forgot to look in the documentation.
I tried a few games that are not able to start with no configuration, the last is strip poker ks 1.2, only creating a new configuration worked.

  7. Hi Frode

I have a login and want submit new games (B.A.T., B.A.T. II). I’m able to modify current entries but I’m not able to add new games from scratch… maybe my profile is restricted… I don’t see a new info button or something similar… in the help you mention to use the web interface for contribution… so I expect that such a button or link must exist.

    Cheers Mac

    • I also forgot to add, there’s a wishlist page (http://oagd.net/wishlist) where anyone can request games to be added to the database (just leave a comment on that page). We use that page as a hint for what games to prioritize 🙂

I also updated http://oagd.net/how-to-contribute to make it clear that adding new game entries must currently by done by administrative staff (with link to the aforementioned wishlist page).

  8. Is there a specific format for the adf files, to be recognized by the database? I’ve scanned a dir with some adf and most of them were not recognized (altho they bear the same name convention used for winUAE for example), but others were recognized correctly; so I am not clear exactly what triggers the db to make a comparison and assign the correct ID.

One example is apidya: it is in the db but it doesn’t seems to be recognized at all (even if I just call it “apidya 1” and “apidya 2”).

Also is there a way to download at once the screens and info for the games that are recognized? I have noticed that the info and screens are downloaded only when you select a game; while would be better to download all at once, for what you have already recognized.

    Thanks!

    • Hi, the disks are identified by checksums (SHA-1 checksums to be specific). That means that the name of your files does not matter at all, only the content of the files. So for Apidya, you may have an unrecognized disk. One possibility for this is that the ADF is modified (high-scores for example?). It is also possible it’s an “alternative disk” in the TOSEC set, no all “alternative” [a] disks are recognized in the database.

Downloading all images at once is certainly possible, and I have considered making it optional, so you can pre-download images if you want to 🙂

      • Thanks Frode; so I guess I have a different version of it…I remember that it was made in 2 versions: one from Keiko, and another one distributed by Team17.

Is there a way to check the checksum for the disks that I have? I use a mac btw

        Thanks!

(It would be great to get all the images at once 🙂 Saves the hassle of opening a connection every time to download the data; space should be an issue nowadays)

        • You can use the shasum utility (in a terminal) to find the SHA-1 checksum for a file on OS X (sha1sum /path/to/file).

    • I did perform a system update earlier today. The database was also updated, and was down a couple of minutes. Did you notice a prolonged problem?

      • Yep, i have problems since the whole days. I worked a few times, but mostly not. At the moment it doesn’t work at all.
