Michael Andretti's World GP is an F1 racing game released for the NES. It follows the 1988 F1 season.
Michael Andretti's World GP was originally released in Japan as Nakajima Satoru: F1 Hero in 1988. Satoru Nakajima was a famous Japanese F1 racer at the time. It was licensed and released in America with a new title in 1990. It offers a selection of courses, and before a race the player gets a guided tour of the various turns on each one by Andretti/Nakajima (depending on the version). The player can also select from a number of F1 vehicles.
The game was followed by the Japanese Famicom-exclusive Nakajima Satoru: F1 Hero 2 in 1991, which saw later sequels for other consoles. The North American version would be the first of many games to use Michael Andretti's name in its title.
