NFL, sometimes referred to as NFL Football, is a 1989 NES football game from LJN, who contracted Atlus to develop it. It is the first video game to use the official NFL license, which allowed the game to use the names and logos of the actual NFL teams. It does not have the NFLPA license, however, and so the individual players remain anonymous.

Like its NES contemporary Tecmo Bowl, the field is viewed horizontally. Players use the time between downs to call their next play using their controller; however, the game does not display the combination of D-pad and face buttons required for each play, and the player must instead refer to a pull-out included in the manual each time in order to find the desired play's combination.
