An adventure game about a young boy who meets a mysterious girl in a countryside village.

Famicom Bunko: Hajimari no Mori ("Famicom Storybook: Origin of the Forest") is an adventure game for the Super Famicom and was released exclusively through the Nintendo Power service. The game would later be made available via the Virtual Console for Japanese Wii and Wii U.

The game's story concerns a young boy who travels to the countryside to live with his grandfather for a time. This player-named protagonist meets a mysterious young girl named Komurasaki soon after he arrives, and tries to find her again as the tale continues. The game uses the standard Famicom/Super Famicom adventure game model where the player selects commands from a menu that the protagonist attempts to complete.
