TODO: @FrodeSolheim Beneath a Steel Sky Gamebase Variant had the mad importer also. there is many disks 1 in the imagelist while many others are missing. prolly it got confused how gamebase numbers the disks like 0, 1, 2 ,3 ,4 and so on instead 00,010,02,03 as tosec does.

TODO: disk numbering here will be a bit more tricky: its boot,0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,12,14,15 notice the missing disk 11 ? disk 11 was always missing.so a possible solution would be to move the "boot" disk to 11 and start from there since the game have already a disk 0.
Actually fast_memory above 16 MB should set amiga_model = A1200/020 automatically. Maybe it couldn't work. I haven't tested it. If it work the option for amiga model shouldn't be need. (I know, this is also for my changes in the CD32 WHDLoad versions)
i never even considered to disable preload. and yes since this is for fs-uae we cant care less about a few megs of ram. tho for portables we should agree to an upper limit of 16gb or so
whdload slaves for the disk versions want 12mb memory. so i changed model to a1200/20 and 16mb fastmem. with the old configuration whdload slave freezes.
if we can have 16mb fast without switching to a1200/20 correct me please
there is an import missing for version 1.1 of the game. don't get confused by tosec there is only disk 01,02,04,06,07,10,13 those are the disks which were actually updated. the gaps are just the disks from the 1.0 release.
@Thomas Magnum: The CD32 WHDLoad versions are now repaired (the file list exceeded a database limit). It takes quite a while for the Launcher to unpack/prepare the hard drive though. @nexusle, I had not noticed the error with the flag
@Thomas Magnum: I've moved the CD32 WHDLoad variants to the normal Amiga game entry. BTW: I've tried the CD32 WHDLoad version with my settings and it work like a charme! If Frode have repaired the WHDLoadImporter you can use the entries of the database.
If you want use CD32 with voice you need a preload of 100MB. Set amiga_model = A1200/020 anf fast_memory = 131072 (128MB). You can read the info file for this Install on WHDLoad.de to get more infos.
Now I tried A1200 EC020, 8 MB and PRELOAD 8MB etc. (your latest db config) but the same happens. Look at the intro when the helicopter appears. Short before the scene changes, the last frames are repeated three times. This happens very often during gameplay - especially when you can hear sound or talking. The game runs smooth in general. I think this is in connection with the CD reading to get the dialogue audio snippets. CD32 games in general work for me.

The breaks and flickering is probably due to not having PRELOADed the WHDLoad slave data. Make sure the slave uses the PRELOAD argument, and you should rather use an Amiga 1200 with 8 MB fast RAM, so there'll be enough memory to preload. (The reason the WHDLoad version does not show up automatically yet is because some problem with max size of the file_list key, which I will fix).
I never owned a CD32, but I've downloaded and played the WHD version with sound and speech (BeneathASteelSky_v2.0_CD32) and got lots of breaks and flickering. Is this an emulation problem or just misconfiguration? I just selected (manually) CD32 and did not alter the other options. I'm on iMac (Mountain Lion) and Core2Duo now.
It seems the games uses 640x384 graphics (and should be cropped to this size, or 320x192). I've added a viewport setting so FS-UAE will also crop the game to this size while playing.
I correctly save state in whload italian version, but when i restart the game i don't found the saved state. Why?
TODO: Could someone please test the floppy variants of the game ?
i get graphical artifacts aswell as crappy sound if i change the amiga model to a600 with also 2mb of chipram this problem is gone.

That's what I meant . This was because one mind on the database and another mind on the family in the same moment
Almost correct, fast_memory > 8192 (8 MB) automatically sets amiga_model = A1200/020

Preload is essential for WHDLoad. It's set by default and should never disabled. An emulated Amiga has enough "Fastram" anyway.
yes without preload its what cyberdruid said. with preload its 12mb fas and 100+ mb for the talkie cd32 version xD

Actually this is not the full requirement of ram. As mentioned in the readme the game needs app. 12 MB for Preload.

...and it takes also a while until WHDLoad starts the game (loading the preload)

With 4 floppy drives, the Amiga needs more memory to load the game, so I upped chip memory to 2048.
