You control Nadia and her party, and you do battle with the Neo-Atlantis group on each map. There are 50 maps to play on, each with increasing difficulty in terms of enemy levels, and you can either play by yourself or against a second human player. The strategy element is simple in nature, with the main objective to kill the opposing team's leader (Nadia or the Emperor). There are items that randomly appear, and each character has special techniques to use. In addition, you can gain experience by defeating enemies in battle, which in turn can make you stronger (this carries over to subsequent maps by saving). It is a bit tedious at first, since a lot of grinding is indeed necessary to beat the later stages, but once you get the hang of it, this game is fun to play.
