Role-Playing video game released by Angel in 1991 for the Super Famicom. It is based in the SD Gundam universe, a spin-off of the popular mecha anime franchise.
SD Gundam Gaiden: Knight Gundam Monogatari: Ooinaru Isan is an RPG based on the SD Gundam franchise, which itself a part of the much larger Gundam franchise. Knight Gundam re-imagines the mechs of the Gundam universe as living creatures that co-exist with humans in a fantasy world full of medieval castles and monsters. The heroic Knight Gundam must fight the evil Satan Gundam before he can enact his plan to kill off all the humans.
The game is an otherwise traditional JRPG, with stats and equipment and leveling-up. The turn-based combat is reminiscent of Dragon Quest, with enemies standing before the party.
