@redmelons This database used to list v1.4 but it's been disabled (see the "Disabled Variants" section on the "Edit" tab on this page). Possibly because it's too much trouble to support out-of-date WHDLoad installs. Version 2.2 also fixes several bugs.

I suggest those solutions:

  • Make your own configuration for your install in the FS-UAE Launcher.
Create a new blank config, choose a name for it, select an A600, give it 8 MB of Fast RAM and, on the Hard Drives tab, in the first HD slot, click the "Browse for file" icon and select your game archive. Click the "Save Config" icon next to the config name to save it (the Launcher doesn't auto-save).
  • Otherwise, you can create your own up-to-date v2.2 WHDLoad install from a floppy version.
The link you gave seems to provide a download which includes the ADF files required (hopefully they are version 2 of the game, see the comments by FrodeSolheim below about a bug in the earlier version). The WHDLoad package can be found here (or on the front page of whdload.de). And the installation script for Lure of the Temptress is provided there.
It's not easy but it can be useful to know how to do your own install if you are in a similar situation in the future.
  • Alternatively, you can try and find another pre-made WHDLoad archive of the game online, hopefully more recent.
  • Finally, you can use the PC version.
Either install ScummVM, download the game files from their website, add the game to ScummVM and play.
Or if you want an easier option, you can get the PC version with ScummVM pre-configured on GOG for free.

The WHDLoad version available at https://www.ppa.pl/rodzynki/lure-of-the-temptress.html is 1.4, but FS-UAE only lists 2.0 or 2.2?

FAQ: Early editions of the Amiga version have a bug which only becomes apparent when you are near the end of the game. If you are using a saved game you will be unable to exit from the Gate room in the Castle. The release date on the bugged version is 17-6-92 and on the debugged version 6-8-92 (If in doubt pull down the "INFO" menu and select information, the release date is displayed there).

Of the English variants, only "IPF 2030" and "WHDLoad, v1.4, 2030" are version 2 (6-8-92), so these should be preferred.

http://www.syntax2000.co.uk/issues/22/temp.sol.txt: "Early editions of the Amiga version have a bug which only becomes apparent when you are near the end of the game. If you are using a saved game you will be unable to exit from the Gate room in the Castle. Virgin Games have fixed this bug and if you send them your discs they will supply replacements. The discs in the debugged version are clearly marked * VERSION 2 *. If in doubt pull down the "INFO" menu and select information. The release date on the bugged version is 17-6-92 and on the debugged version 6-8-92."

Of the English variants, only "The compilation Greatest, 2030" and "WHDLoad, v1.4, 2030" are version 2 (6-8-92), so these should be preferred. I'm not sure if the non-English variants are affected. There does not seem to be any (English) ADF versions without this bug.
