@TheCyberDruid, @Hoxy: Yes I think we'll go with the "simple" definition that simultaneous players means two people controlling the game at the same time. Probably too much gray area with otherwise
Write protection explains perfectly fine why it doesn't work with KS 1.3: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=65984
So yes, another +1 for read-only disks
I think that simultaneous should mean that those players can actually do something in the game at the same time. This way it's less problematic to handle.
You might be right. But Frode was uncertain about Arcade Pool, which also is turn based. He thought it might be 1 - 8 (2) but we left that one on 1 - 8 (1).
I put 1 - 2 (2) on this since it is chess, both players are thinking about next moves so really no waiting for your turn.
But 1 - 2 (1) might be the correct one.
I guess I could have worded my comment better. I just meant to indicate that there are sections of the game you will miss out that are important like the tutorial, as with no subtitles the player will not know what to do. It's less important in games like Beneath a Steel Sky where you only miss out on nicer music and speech.
Every game which has CD tracks to play music and speech via CDDA is effected. Of course there are CD32/CDTV games which uses a custom sound system, or use the chip music too, e.g. Fire and Ice CD32. If it that's what you've meant.
@Retro-Nerd I know most people will know that, but not everyone. And not every game is effected by it. But in Battle Chess if you choose Tutorial for example, the King comes on his mouth starts moving as he explains the rules, but with no subtitles or music the game looks broken.

Just read the game notice for WHDLoad. Of course any CD music/speech tracks are missing in all CDTV/CD32 preinstalled WHDLoad games. WHDLoad simply doesn't support it yet.
Ok for the protection. I've awaited the protection earlier. - The second thing: write protection does not explain why it works with Kickstart 2.0 and not 1.3.
TODO: The disk problem may be related to write protection. The disks may have to be write-protected at all times (http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/docs.php?id=157). I'll have to check this, and add support to mark disks as write-protected.

@Hoxy Since it's a turn based game I think that '1 - 2 (1)' is more accurate

protection = None is wrong for the IPF versions, the game asks questions about chess match results when starting the game.
Amiga crashes after booting and opening the Battle Chess disk icon. I have set Kickstart to 2.0+ because with this setting we get no crash.
