@Hoxy, thanks you are correct of course It seems http://hol.abime.net/3298 was also wrong (now corrected by @TheCyberDruid). One could even make the case that it's a 1 - 8 (2) game, since 2 of the 8 players will frequently swap the mouse and are "in the game" simultaneously, I'll think some more about that later. 1 - 8 (1) it is now.
I've tested out the WHD variant with A4000 & this gives a much nice frame rate. Not sure if ADF variants are compatible.

The original check for HOL must have missed the tournament option and simply gone with 'Two player game'...

You can in fact under the tournament settings enter 8 non-computer players
@Hoxy, I think max players for this game is 2 (updated). Please change back if it is indeed 8
