The black borders are actually filled while the intro runs, so it would look odd to remove them at the start and later have the font shrink while they are filled.
On a side note, this game is great wee shoot em' up, with some awesome music and graphics... I love finding wee gems like this whilst test playing games for keywords
This game is freeware since 2006, maybe provide dl link, check HOL

TODO: The viewport for the intro needs to be fixed as currently there is a large thick black border around the whole intro.
