| __long_description | Madou Monogatari: Hanamaru Daiyouchienji ("Magical Story: Big Kindergarten Kids", according to the fan translation. "Hanamaru" is a flower circle stamp children receive for good work, like a gold star.) is a turn-based JRPG released exclusively for the Japanese Super Famicom. It is based loosely on the story of the original Madou Monogatari game, which also features a young Arle taking an exam.
Hanamaru Daiyouchienji features Arle as a precocious kindergartner who is about to begin her final exam. However, before she is allowed to take part, she must find a Final Exam Certificate. A letter arrives that tells her she can have any wish granted if she can bring eight magical stones to the top of Sage Mountain. Arle intends to wish for her own certificate and sets off to find the stones.
Hanamaru Daiyouchienji has some rudimentary RPG mechanics. The game conceals most of Arle's stats, and she fights with spells that she can acquire and upgrade by reading special wall plaques hidden across the world. |
